Water is the culprit. When water gets cold enough, it freezes and expands. If you drained your coolant, a mixture of water and antifreeze, there’s nothing to freeze.
If nothing is in there whats gonna freeze to crack it
Stick a air compressor on one end of the coolant hose and you can blast out the water. Just use low psi.
Are you removing your starter motor ? If you are doing that I don’t understand why you’d drain the coolant
Your block will only crack if there is water in it to freeze and expand. That’s why it’s called ‘anti-freeze’
