Trailer Clutch Issues

Question

Mechanical question, have any of you experienced clutch issues once you started pulling a trailer and if so, how long after? Thanks in advance.

2001 Yama venture clutch went out at 98000 miles toeing a bunkhouse. Not too long ago I changed my vision clutch with 35000 miles before heading to the mountains towing an adpen. The old clutch looked new….

  2. Have a 94 Goldwing SE with235,000+ and never had a problem

  3. If you need to replace buy high performance aftermarket clutch plates. More surface area. Well worth the extra money.

  4. That’s what I did with my Vision. The old plates looked like new but I still replaced them with a Barnett heavy duty. I figure they will last me a long time…

  5. What year bike? 07-09 compensators can cause problems. You may want to change to a heavy duty spring before any slip occurs will save a clutch pack

  6. ’05 honda sabre with 300k, still on the original clutch. Brakes on the other hand… lol
