What tires are you thinking of putting on?

Top leaders are Dunlop and Michelin

Only reason I ask is I have a 2009 Electra Glide ultra classic and am running the Michelin’s and I’m not very happy with them . I’m putting on the Dunlop’s and hoping for a better ride . The Michelin’s are very hard riding .

You ride in wet and cold?

I have the commander 2 in the rear and it’s holding up great. One night it was 33 degrees and had just finished raining and i was in 3rd gear, punched the throttle in a straight, it was enough to throw me back but the tire didn’t slip at all

Michelin commader2 are my choice in I’ve ridden in lots of cold and wet. Long mileage from then too

    Michelins hands down

We have the same bike! I’ve just always replaced mine with the D402 Dunlop’s that it came with.

Got about 4000 miles on the commanders and I am not impressed very hard tire goin with elites next not shure I’ll even wear out the commanders almost intolerable for me and a bunch of riding buddy’s feel the same ! They are terrible on the highway I ride a lot and tires make up a lot of the ride as far as comfort goes!

      Thanks for heads up

I had over 14k on my last Michelin Commander II. I ride year round in all types of weather. That Michelin took me on a coast to coast ride. My bike does not ride harsh; just the opposite. Long lasting tire and grips great in corners.

I considered the Commander before getting the Metzlers. How is it on grooved pavement? Do you wiggle like Shakira?

I recently did a NC to FL and back and it seems 1/3 Of the trip was grooved down I95. No wiggle or wandering even at 80.

John Arnett that’s what I love about the Metzlers. Rock solid even across miles of grooves. My OE Dunlops were horrible.

But, but… for $307.95 plus an hour labor of $110, you can get a OE tire with the Harley Davidson emblem on it. … that may last 4,000 miles.

Used Dulop for 53 years and never had a problem.

    I’ve liked Dunlop American elite

I second the Dunlop American Elite. I’ve got 9k on a set I put on last year and, still got a lot of life in them. I ride year round, rain or, shine. I’ll put them on again. Have heard great things about the Michelin Commander II as well.

Have over 12000 on the rear on the elites

This is my first experience with the elites and, I’m really happy so far. Great riding tire. Not as soft as the 402 but, I’ll take the longevity any day. Handles great too in my opinion.

Only problem I have with the commanders is not as good on wet as dunlop

my brothers recommended to me commander 2’s. they said its the perfect mix of wear, grip and wet rain traction. I have almost 500 miles on this back one and so far its been great. I even had it on wet grass and it did very well.(dont ask) I rode 35 miles in the rain on it this past weekend and it held great. I got mine from 2 wheel dot com. But i think you can go wrong with any of the premiums mentioned here
