Oil spray on the frame | Beta X Trainer

Question

After my first ride on my brand new Xtrainer, I noticed oil spray on the frame. I looked closer and saw oil leaking from behind the plastic cover. I pulled the cover off and two of the ears are broken clean off. I can only assume the bolts were torqued a bit too much during assembly and broke the cover.

My question is this; what goes on behind that cover? What function occurs back there and why is easy access required, hence the easily removed cover?

    It’s the power valve cover.

Shouldn’t have happened even over torqued.
    Bummer.
Just fabricate a temporary metal cover till the new one arrives, and when it does, read some about removing the power valve limiting spacer behind it.
