Last weekend we camped at Skyisland in Old Fort NC just east of Asheville. Owner was great even put us in a site with plenty of trees for hammocks. Fire rings and grills on sites. Firewood is 7 sticks for $5. Got to the pile and pick your wood.

Kickstand Lodge for sure. 20 miles to Deals Gap. 20 miles to Bryson. No place will make you feel more like family. Go meet Mo!

The Blue Ridge Motorcycle Campground is just 48 miles north of Cherokee near the Blue Ridge Parkway. Great place with friendly people, as well as a kitchen where you can get hot food at reasonable prices.

Ironhorse Motorcycle Lodge and campground in Stecoah,N.C. just outside of Robbinsville and a lot of good riding. We have spent the last 10 Memorial Day weekends there and already have our spot reserved for the next one.

Balsam Mountain campground, highest campground in the GSM national park. It’s on Heintooga Road off the Blue Ridge Parkway. Over a mile high with over looks and elk. Close to Maggie Valley and Cherokee. Best we’ve done, locals.

Any of the motorcycle campgrounds are winners. We have been to all of them. Make sure to check out the southern end of the Blue Ridge parkway. If you get as far ad Asheville, go to Biltmore. Great ride is the Cherohala skyway. Ask Mo for the map.

Just driving out of pigeon forge this am after a week of riding…thought the koa in Townsend was a great stepping off point for all the blue ridge riding..stay out of pigeon forge, seiverville and Gatlinburg unless you want to do touristy stuff. There are also some beautiful off the beaten path parks over in the waynesville area
