I paid the campsite owner £2
Corner of the pub whilst eating 🙂
Wild camping a problem then
You can from a solar panel and 12v battery setup via a inverter yes but it's not very efficient due to most ebike's being 24 to 48v. ( mine is 36v bosch )
Extra batteries or a very long extension cord. We are working on it.
It's a shame there isn't some sort of dynamo we can switch on when we are going downhill to recharge the battery, like the way old bike lights used to work.
In France there is an offgrid solution in the mountains https://www.victronenergy.com/blog/2015/04/24/sunwind-design-autonomous-solar-charging/
Or some wind powered stations. We have an abundance of wind here also.
I just need to get stronger and cut down on the assist level.
I think we need to differentiate here between offgrid wild camping or campsites and marinas where 230 AC bollard outlets are aplenty.
If people really want to charge offgrid at wild camp sites then the best and most costly solution is a portable generator, such as this which I use when travelling from marina to marina.
Tracer make lipo batteries that might be able to charge the main battery.
Plan your trip around charging points! 🙂
I think Elon Musk will get into this soon. I hope. The new Gigafactory is doing some incredible stuff to get more power into the same size.
