Factory warranty on the new 2017 EXC models?

Question

Hello, does anyone know the factory warranty on the new 2017 EXC models? Thanks.

Edit: sorry, google just answered my question. it’s 6mo, and covers engine, frame, and swingarm only. Further, and this is thick in a hurry: engine is defined only as whats inside the engine cases, meaning entire top half of motor isn’t covered. Nice…. said another way: the warranty is meaningless.

That’s kinda crappy if you ask me. Buy a 13k dollar dirt bike and good luck is what they are saying.

At an event last year, I met a guy with a brand new 450 SX. The motor had locked up solid, and it only had something like 0.4 hours on it. It was BRAND NEW! The guy was hoping that his dealer would help him out, but I never heard any more from him on it….

There are optional 4 year warranties available. I wonder what they cover…

if it’s also bottom half of motor, frame, and swingarm, then it’s pretety dang useless.

    Yeah, definitely.

6 months to cover what some idiots will do to a dirt bike is pretty damn good if you asked me. But some people buy something at Walmart, use it for a weekend, and return it. Such is our depraved society nowadays.\nI want all the dumb shit I’m gonna do covered dammit! :)\nBut ‘they clean the air filter after every ride’…

but it’s only the bottom end. Drop a valve on a fluke and you’re SOL… how it is possible to hurt a bottom end in 6mo? frame/swingarm? Warranty makes it almost impossible that they have any liability…

You only need to look at what your neighbor has claimed and blame them for why warranties are the way they are. Technically eyeglass frames have a one year warranty… To me the seller. Will I tell a patient that? Hell no. They’ll return it after they run it over with their car… On purpose.

I don’t wear glasses. Still a whipper snapper.

If it’s a failure due to workmanship KTM actually is about the best when it comes to standing behind their product, been there first hand. XCF 350 blew its lunch 3 laps into the Unadilla GNCC. Cylinder and cylinder head literally separated from the block. Threading in cases pulled, total loss. That following Tuesday morning I notified my dealership and delivered the bike that afternoon. Saturday morning I picked the bike up with a complete new engine assembly, no cost ! Covered…. another situation was a new 530 breaking pistons, 4 in total. Had around 300 miles when the last one failed. Rep came to check the bike over, one week later I was the owner of a new bike, compete new bike. I wouldn’t sweat being hung out to dry by the company.

KTM treats it case by case, I know a few guys that have lost a engine and they covered it completely.

Had 4. Never had what I considered close to a manufacturing problem

Had 4-dee… and also not had a manufacturing-level problem… but i’m just saying: as written, the warranty is pretty useless.

These machines are racing machines period, if you want a tank then go buy a XR. I professionally build race engines for motorsports and they leave my bench with zero warranty, I know what they are doing to the engines…
