    I've been wanting to try it for years, but haven't done it yet. Use to have all kinds of plans etc. for Alternative cooking methods. Probably start with bringing along my cast iron skillet and a dutch oven. Not a problem cooking with those and surviving over a period of time. My favorite source for those plans and ideas has always been Mother Earth News articles.

    I always see people demoing those out in front of Honeyville, and they look super cool. I'd totally be interested if they weren't so damn expensive!

    Angela there's a lot of make-your-own ones, plans out there that are extremely cheap to make. I can't say how well they work but others who have built them say they do. Many use things as simple as cardboard boxes, newspapers, aluminum foil, a sheet of black construction paper, and a piece of clear glass or clear plastic wrap. One I saw uses a pizza box.

    I want to make one and try it out I have to make a dry run anyway on my Gear before I leave so figured I do it then Hopefully sunny out
