2013 KTM 250SX All Balls

Question

2013 ktm 250sx anybody else find that this joint wears very quickly. This one is a Allballs product.

Greg Proudfoot :
That heim joint usually lasts quite awhile for me as long as the brakes are adjusted properly. I would definitely go stock though, all balls anything is Garbo af. Wheel bearing especially, SKF makes great wheel bearings and they come with new spacers which are extremely important as far as longevity of use goes

  1. I have never found all balls to be the best quality they are handy kits and are good but not necessarily the best

  2. Lube it once in awhile with lube oil

  3. A water blaster/power washer just destroys these parts , u can put a rubber sleave ova it to keep it lubed.

  5. Try to avoid the all balls ones OEM does not wear like that

  6. Yup, OE KTM, then pour some Rotella on it. 😂

  7. What the heck is all the black stuff, is that graphite, it has like a pumice like quality and will wear stuff out

  8. All balls is Chinese junk.

  9. All Balls sucks. Period.\nGood day…

  10. If you look at McMaster-Carr or Grainger in go under threaded ball link just need to know the size of the threads and ball size and you can probably match it up. You will end up with better quality.

  11. I can’t recall ever replacing one of those, ever on any bike

  12. I found a great source for KTM service manuals in pdf. cheers mates. \n https://infopower17.wordpress.com/

  13. I’d def run the OEM one.

  14. They don’t wear quick if you maintain them. Hello!!!!!!!!

  15. Never had a problem

  16. Locknut isn’t doing anything.

  17. Likewise. Never had to replace one and I had a 520 for 15 years.

  18. Have had a fleet of KTMS with hundreds of hours, never seen one look or fail like that

  19. I too have never replaced that part. Have 425 hours on my bike. I will add I usually wash & dry the bike after most rides and spray WD-40 on moving parts like this.

  20. I drilled mine with a small hole and I grease it with a needle grease gun tip. Never replaced it in 9 years.

  21. I’ve got 5 KTMs at the house and have never had to touch that.

  22. I’m thinking if you wash some of the dirt and grime off of there once in a while it may not wear out as fast….

  23. Hi Alex i broke mine fuel cock off just taking the tank off my 950 think there’s problem with some of them

  24. It looks about normal to me. It’s a product of its environment.

  25. 5 KTMs, 10 years, never had to replace one. And, seriously, I never lube it. Just a quick WD40 blast, which isn’t really a lube. Go figure…

  26. It’s called cleanliness and lubrication suggestion! Remove ever nut and bolt on the bike and grease it !!!!!every one ! Then go from there is I know it not supposed to need lube but we’ve had em on KTM since 1985 been cleaning an lube ever since
