2010 XC Spark Plugs Changing

Question

I need to change the spark plugs on my 2010 XC, and i figured it would be a good time to do wires and coils as well. Whats everybodys recommendation on the above parts?

Use the stock coils. The MSD coils don’t help or add any HP. There is a large aftermarket for new plug wires. They are all pretty much the same.

Stick with what you take out, fancy plugs, hi test gas, etc., just cost extra money you don’t need to waste. Witch doctors have good plug wires that are colored. Plus you get candy.

iridium plugs draw less current which cause less heat on tge wires which in turn is better for the wires. This is also better on your ignition coil. Quickers starts longer life.

I’m not saying you are wrong. I just replaced my plugs after 30K miles, cost was less than $6. I’m not an engineer, but I think the guys who designed these motors are pretty good at their job.

I agree but new technology happens everyday . I’m an electrician so I do understand the correlation between amperage draw and heat. I seen a big difference in starting.

your coil is just fine it should out last the bike. no benefit to different coil

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Clean air filter, change oil and brake/clutch fluid. My CC has 45,000 miles, FJR has 76,000, the Ninja had 72,000 miles and I never replaced plugs or wires.
